The Ackee Walk Animation Project INVESTORS NEEDED Press Play & Watch a Snippet
Ackee Walk is a fun, educational and exciting animated puppet/animation series that teaches children about their rights and responsibilities. It is set in a family-oriented community in Jamaica where children are respected and protected by everyone. All 24 five-minute episodes of Season 1 (2015-2016) were created using live puppets operated by children/youth.
For Season 2 we are seeking investment to create & produce 13, ten-minute episodes in full 2D Animation, to be aired on Television Jamaica, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and other networks internationally. This phase of the project consists of several stages, including: Pre-/Post Production, Broadcast on Television and Distribution in Early Childhood Institutions across Jamaica. Additionally we will create activity books/workbooks/App based on the content of the season for distribution.
.
Ackee Walk’s core goal is to educate all children, in a fun and meaningful way, about their rights and responsibilities. To achieve this goal, we combine multimedia platforms, vibrant characters, music and the vivaciousness of Jamaican culture with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals for quality education, peace, justice, strength, social institutions, gender equality, climate action, reduced hunger and poverty. The dominant motif of the show is the principle of respect. All the characters are continuously learning how respect for self, others, the nation and the world, in spite of differences in age, gender, abilities, race or wealth, makes the world more cohesive and enriches the lives of all people.
Ostensibly, because Ackee Walk is built on the principle of respect, the show is created to be inclusive of children with disabilities especially children with autism spectrum disorders and deaf children.
Ackee Walk’s strong educational foundation makes use of the Multiple Intelligences theory to create episodes and activities that appeal to the different learning styles of preschoolers/ kindergarten children: logical-mathematical, musical-rhythmic, verbal-linguistic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, body-kinesthetic, visual-spatial and naturalistic.
